Today is December 21. We are still waiting. I know that God has his purposes, but sometimes it is so hard to wait. I guess the hardest thing is knowing that the child is still in the orphanage in the Ukraine when she or he could be here with us. We have officially finished the graduation of our oldest daughter and will be traveling with her to Austin on the 26th to move her in to her new apartment. I know that God knew this was something that we needed to do so he allowed us to stay home for this. Just like to let God know that we are free after this trip. (HA HA) Keep us in your prayers as we are still waiting for our appointment date.

It is now December 1, 2007. We are still waiting for a referral date. I know that God has a wonderful child just waiting for us to come and bring her home. Please pray for us as we wait for the date. Life is changing around our house. Our oldest will graduate from nursing school in two weeks and move to Austin, TX to pursue her life long dream of becoming an emergency room nurse. Christmas is coming and it is very hard to know that our new daughter is not going to be here with us this Christmas. We thought last year by this time that for sure she would be here. Thanks be to God for all his blessings.

We got a call from Jana at Lifeline this week. She says that it is taking as much as four months after submission for an appointment. So it could be February before we are going to be going to the Ukraine. I guess God has a plan and we are just waiting for him to reveal it to us.

We are anxiously awaiting the submission of our paperwork. We will hopefully be submitted on Monday according to Sasha. We had to update a lot of our paperwork because of the new law in the Ukraine. Everything should be finished with Apostille today, October 4. Please keep us in your prayers as they are telling us we should travel around December 16. Tammy

Thanks for the comments

We plan to keep blogging all the way through. I would like to see your blogspot, thanks for the address. I talked to Jana this week and she thinks we are in the next group of submissions. So hopefully we will hear something soon.

Thanks for all your prayers and concern.

Awaiting Appointment

Our names are Kevin and Tammy Huckabee. We are in the process of waiting to go to the Ukraine to adopt a beautiful baby girl. We started the process last September and are hoping to travel soon. Our dossier went to the Ukraine around the first of May. We have three children. Breanne who is 22 and is a nursing student. Shohn who is 20 and owns his own construction business, and finally Alyssa who is 2 1/2 and can hardly wait to meet her new sister Kailyn. We live in El Paso, TX and both of us are retired. We are so enjoying being able to spend such quality time with Alyssa and will be more excited to spend time with both of the girls. God has blessed our family enormously and we would like to be able to share those blessing with another child.
