Well here is the news you all have been waiting for. We are adopting three children, one girl and two boys. The youngest is Yana(Kailyn Elyse) and she is 2 years old. The youngest boy is Igor(Jacob Ethan) and he is 4 years old. The oldest boy is Illia(Jaryd Elijah) and he is 8 years old. Illia means Elijah. For those of you who remember Breanne’s dream. Breanne is our oldest daughter and she had a dream that Kailyn would have a brother and his name would be Elijah. Wow is God wonderful!!!!!!

We are in Kirovograd. We are about 3 ½ hours from Kyiv. We have already started the process to adopt. We hope to have court sometime around the 27th. If this is the way it works out we should be home sometime around the 15th of September.

Things are looking very good. We have a new apartment here in Kirovograd. It is very nice. The only bad thing is that we are on the 5th floor. No elevator.

Alyssa is very excited. She wants to know if we can bring home five of them. I don’t think that is advisable. I think three is enough. She doesn’t understand we have to wait a little while to be able to pick them up. She wants to pick them up now.

Yana(Kailyn) is potty trained. She probably only weighs about 15 pounds. I think she probably wears a size 12 months. Possibly 18 months, but no larger. Igor(Jacob) probably wears a size 4T or 5T. He is very thin but about three inches taller than Alyssa.
Illia(Jaryd) I am not sure what size yet. I am not up to date on those sizes. I will check on that.

Kailyn’s hair is very blonde. This tends to look a little brown. She has brown eyes.
Jacob’s hair is also blonde and he also has brown eyes.
Jaryd’s hair is very blonde and he has green eyes. He is also very shy.

How WONDERFUL! What a blessing!
We will continue to pray for God to keep smoothing the way as you continue on this journey to adopt these beautiful children.

We will be in Ukraine on Sunday. Do you have a cell phone number you can send to me?

What a beautiful blessing...times 3! I'm crying many happy tears for you all right now!!!! Congratulations!!

I recognize the look in your oldest one's eyes very well. He may be very shy, but he's also very scared and very confused. Remember that if things get a little bumpy down the road. Fear often doesn't present itself as we typically envision "fear" to look with these kids, either. I so wish someone would have told me that while we were in Ukraine!!! It would have made a world of difference for us --

Are all the children in the same orphanage or is your oldest at an internat?

Enjoy getting to know your new babies! Our kids all had a hard time understanding why we could't just take the boys home immediately. Joseph told us the day we told him we'd like to adopt him that he wanted to leave the internat in 3 days. It was pretty funny because he was SOOO insistant about it, too. He left a couple of weeks later, but thanks to passport issues, it was another 3 weeks after that before we finally got his little brother.

Congratulations! Never doubt the power of God in orchestrating things and having it turn out as it should. I'll have to go back and read that about Elijah and the dream.

We, too, had some similar experiences that let us know the boys we adopted were supposed to be ours.

Hopefully you can find out a lot about their background, history, and medical records. We were not prepared for the trauma and found out long after we got home many of the unfortunate things they had to endure that put them in the orphanages in the first place. After we learned the "real" story we could get them the help to start healing that they needed.

WOW, what a wonderful surprise. God often comes up with plans that we don't even think about. I know you are being obedient to His Voice and that He has wonderful things in store for not only you guys, but the new childrne as well. Are these guys all brothers and sister? It's probably my imagination, but they look so much alike. They also look like they could be Huckabees!!! I look forward to meeting them and continue to pray for God's intervention in this adoption process.

God bless you all. ILYM,

Grandpa Dan
